Our Team

Gerald Banks, is the founder and Managing Partner of Cipher Technologies.

Having worked as Managing Director of Structured Products at Merrill Lynch and Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein, Gerald has an affinity for innovative ideas, data analysis and precision execution.   

Gerald studied both the Japanese language and Economics in Tokyo before completing his graduate studies at London Business School. He also has a Masters in the Philosophy of Physics from Columbia University.

During his downtime, Gerald spends time with his wife and three kids in Greenwich, CT. He is an experienced aviator, a jazz aficionado, and can be seen at various hotspots of Tokyo’s bustling streets in his spare time.
